Marlon Wayans wants the upcoming Scary Movie 6 to possess the same "flavor" as the original.

A little over two months after the sixth Scary Movie installment was announced, Wayans recently told People what fans can expect from the movie, slated to release on June 12, 2026. The films were parodies of horror and thriller franchises like Scream, Halloween and The Shining.

"We got the gloves off. We're going R. We're going to have the same fun and the same kind of tone and Wayans flavor that we gave on the first one," he told the publication.

The actor-comedian, who co-wrote and starred in the first two Scary Movie films with his brother, Shawn Wayans, hasn't returned to the franchise in 20 years. Also directing Scary Movie 1 and 2 was their older brother, Keenan Ivory Wayans. The third and fourth installments, released in 2003 and 2006, were directed by David Zucker, while Malcolm D. Lee took over the fifth, released in 2013.

In Marlon's perspective, the last three Scary Movie films were "missing that flavor," so with 6, the family plans to bring the heat by "bringing out Lowry's and Frank's Hot Sauce."

Other longtime players in the Scary Movie franchise were Anna Faris and Regina Hall, the latter of who's been mum about the potential of returning as Brenda Meeks.

"We’ll see if Brenda is in this new world. I’m thrilled at the possibility that the band could get back together again. That would be fun," the actress told TV Insider last year.

As for Faris, the actress will only return if Hall signs on.
