Wendy Williams Reportedly Cleared Following Cognitive Health Exam (UPDATED)
Williams is set to return to The View this week.
Updated 03/10/25 7:00 p.m. ET: After receiving a cognitive health exam to determine if she is eligible to be released from her guardianship, Wendy Williams was cleared.
A follow-up report from TMZ says sources close to the media personality scored a 10 out of 10 on the psych exam. The questions determined her alertness. The results contradict her guardian’s report that Williams’ condition was getting worse.

Ahead of her scheduled talk show comeback on The View, Wendy Williams will reportedly be having a cognitive health examination.
According to TMZ, Williams, 60, is currently at Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital for the examination, with the procedure being done to determine if the media personality can be released from her guardianship. The test was reportedly requested by caregiver Gina Monterroso after the NYPD visited Williams early Monday (March 10).
It was during the visit that the NYPD inquired about the media personality allegedly being held in an assisted living facility. Additionally, Adult Protective Services is conducting an investigation into the matter.
With Williams now seeking the counsel of Joe Tacopina, the celebrity attorney who took on A$AP Rocky's gun assault trial, Williams is set to be a guest on The View on Friday (March 14). The appearance will mark Williams' return to the show in almost four years, and nearly two years after she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
In January, Williams appeared on Power 105.1 radio program The Breakfast Club and denied being cognitively impaired, also demanding that she be released from her "prison" guardianship. At one point in the interview, which can be heard below, Williams claimed that the "system" she's in has "falsified" information about her.
Last month, Williams shared on podcast 2 Angry Men that her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, has "inappropriately" mismanaged her finances.
