YouTube Creators Colin and Samir Lose Palisades Homes
The YouTube creators' wives, Madilyn Myers and Katie Chaudry, are pregnant.
YouTube creators Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry are recovering after the loss of their Palisades homes during the relentless Los Angeles wildfires.
As the hosts of the Colin and Samir channel also have pregnant wives, Madilyn Myers and Katie Chaudry, the men were urgent in finding relief via social media.
"Hey everyone, Unfortunately both of our homes burned down in the Palisades Fire," Rosenblum and Chaudry wrote in a joint statement on Instagram. "The enormity of the loss is very overwhelming. Both of our wives are pregnant and our primary focus right now is getting back on stable ground. We'll be pausing uploads for a bit while we figure out what's next."
Then men called the wildfires "a devastating situation for many people across L.A. right now and fires are continuing to burn."
"We're feeling incredibly fortunate for all of the support that we're receiving," the post continued. "We're grateful to the firefighters and first responders for continuing to fight the fire. To everyone who follows along with us, words don't begin to capture how much you mean to us."
Since launching their GoFundMe fundraiser, Rosenblum and Chaudry have raised over $183,000, exceeding their original $100,000, which has increased to $200,000.
In a separate Instagram post, Chaudry shared that Katie, who he married in April 2022, is 37 weeks pregnant. Rosenblum and Myers married last April.
More than 22,000 acres of the Pacific Palisades have burned since the wildfires, caused by Santa Ana winds, began on Tuesday (Jan. 7). At least six wildfires have torn through parts of Los Angeles, Ventura, San Diego, Riverside and Santa Barbara, with a near-total of 36,000 acres burned.
