Anne Burrell Was in 'Great Spirits' Before Sudden Death
More details are coming out about the Food Network star's last night.
Food Network star Anne Burrell's sudden death at age 55 shocked her fans and co-stars.
Although her cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, the 911 caller reported a cardiac arrest, according to TMZ, which explained that Burrell was found unresponsive on Tuesday, June 17, at her Brooklyn home.
But now additional details are coming out about Burrell's final night before her death, and it appears that she was in "great spirits." In short, there was no sign that tragedy was looming.
“Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy,” a source told People.
On June 9, Burrell shared on her Instagram page that she was going to be participating in an improv show on Monday, June 16, which ended up being her final hours.
"Sooooooo… as I have mentioned I have been taking Improv classes @thesecondcitytc and having an ABSOLUTE blast!!! My class and I are coming to the end of this term and we get to do an actual show!!! If anyone is interested in stopping by on Monday June 16 at 9 pm @thesecondcity in Brooklyn please feel free!! We are a small but SUPER fun bunch!!" she wrote in the post.
“Spent last night enjoying Anne’s cooking and doing an improv show together,” wrote actor Jane Margolis on Instagram. “Still in shock, but so glad I got to know you.” She included a heart emoji.
A second source also confirmed to People that Burrell was happy on her last night.
She “was in great spirits last night during and after the improv show. Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast," that source told the magazine.
The source told People that everyone is "shocked and confused" because there were no signs anything was wrong the night before Burrell's death.
Burrell gained fans through her Food Network show Worst Cooks in America, which showcased her feisty personality.
She also appeared happy and well in an Instagram post five days before her death. In her final post, she posed on a street with a green-haired woman known as the "Green Lady of Brooklyn."
