Leno said it's funny that people think the Mob would handle debt by throwing him down a hill.

Bill Maher wants to know if something more nefarious is going on with Jay Leno and the various injuries he's suffered lately.

On the latest episode of his Club Random podcast, Maher expressed his thoughts on Leno's latest injury, where he claimed to have fallen down a hill near a hotel in Pennsylvania. Leno had a black eye, a bandage on his arm, and a black-and-blue face, which led many on social media to believe that he was lying and covering up that gambling debts had something to do with his injuries.

He also suffered third-degree burns to his face from a fire in his garage and broke several bones in a motorcycle collision recently. Maher questioned Leno about the injuries and asked if he'd heard about the rumors that the Mafia was after him.

"Did you see what the Enquirer said about your spill?" asked Maher. "Well, it's a conspiracy theory, since you've had three accidents, that you actually have gambling debts, and you're being beaten up by the mob."

Leno responded, "I love the idea that the mob would drive to Greenburg, Pennsylvania, wait outside the Hampton Inn on kind of a sleety, rainy day to throw me down the hill."

Maher replied, "That's not what they're saying; please don't mischaracterize the Enquirer. They're saying 'throw you down the hill' was your cover story, and they just beat you up like the Mob always does."

In his explanation a few days after suffering his most recent injuries, Leno claimed he had fallen "60-70 feet" and that he hit his head on a rock and hurt his eye.
