Bobbi Althoff Reveals She Made Up to $300,000 From TikTok and Brand Deals Last Year
Althoff got her start on TikTok with videos focused on motherhood.
Bobbi Althoff has revealed she made quite a bag off TikTok and various brand deals.
In a new conversation with Wired, Althoff spoke about generating money off her popular brand. The 27-year-old got her start making videos on TikTok that were geared towards motherhood, and several brands reached out to her to market some of their products. According to Althoff, she made between $250,000 to $300,000 just off brand deals and TikTok last year. The entire interview is linked up top and she begins talking about her six-figure earnings around the 3-minute mark.
"Last July I was making around $250,000 to $300,000 a year," said Althoff. "From brand deals on TikTok and from the Creator Fund. I was doing pretty well for myself. I thought I had really made it. I didn't know there was a level above that. I was like, "I did this, guys."
Althoff went on to explain that when it came to branded content, she was making about $5,000 to $10,000 per video after signing to a management company.
Elsewhere in the interview, Althoff told the story about how she got her podcast off the ground by paying $300 to have guests appear on her show. She was making some money off TikTok, but it was challenging coming up with daily content as she was posting videos every day that were either a hit or miss.
"The way that my podcast started was, I felt like $250,000 is great and all, but it's hard to come up with content with just me every day. Every day I'm having to go viral. No matter how long you've been doing it, going viral and keeping viral is not easy," Bobbi added. "So every day I was still posting 10 videos; even when I had 3 million followers, some of those videos would completely flop and get 50,000 views."
She continued, "And then I saw this video of a girl talking about how much she made from her podcast, and I think I mentally decided that she made at least $300,000 a year on her podcast alone. And I was like, that's what I need to do next. I need a podcast. So I started it. It was first called So You're Rich."
At one point in the interview, the topic of Althoff’s rapid rise to internet fame came up—she secured a Drake interview seemingly out of thin air in the early days of her podcast. She addressed the belief that she was an industry plant, claiming it wasn't true and pointing to the hustler's mentality she says she has always had.
"I think that it makes sense, from an outside looking in perspective," said the online personality and podcaster when asked about the industry plant allegations. "I can see why they would think that But, I've been a hard worker for my whole life, my first job was when I was 16. When I was in high school I was go with my parents to the houses my dad would work on—and clean the houses with my mom."
Althoff's social media videos eventually turned into The Really Good Podcast, which is currently in its third season and featured several high profile guests including Drake, Offset, Mark Cuban, DDG, YG, to name a few.
In an episode of her podcast from last month, Bobbi Althoff had one of her signature moments with guest DDG, who shocked her by revealing that his Richard Mille watch was worth $180,000. "$180,000 for a watch? Did you buy it?" she asked. "Yeah, what you think I did?" DDG replied with a laugh. "You think I rented it for your podcast?"
