Kai Cenat’s Record-Setting 'Mafiathon 2' Stream: Celebrity Guests
Kai Cenat has already earned a Streamer Awards nomination for the marathon stream, which opened with Lil Uzi vert and Miranda Cosgrove.
Kai Cenat is on a record-smashing run with his Mafiathon 2 streaming event.
Aptly named, the marathon sees the 22-year-old streaming star aiming to get 30 straight days of streaming in the bag. And not just 30 days in a row, but 30 days in a row of 24-hours-a-day streaming. This, of course, was playfully presented as a prescription from a Dr. Melfi-esque Kim Kardashian in a Sopranos-inspired announcement video in October.
The marathon has also seen Cenat tucking in a few newsworthy reveals, including his claim of turning down a multimillion-dollar offer from Kick. In retrospect, Cenat told fans, he believes that going that route would have had a sizable impact.
“I wouldn’t be here right now. No cap,” he said.
Below, we take a look at some of the special guests who have joined Cenat on his streaming marathon journey. As recently announced, Cenat's Mafiathon 2 has already scored a Best Marathon Stream nomination at the 2024 Streamer Awards. Winners will be revealed on Dec. 7.
Serena Williams
The tennis icon’s appearance on Kai’s streaming marathon marked an unprecedented crossover event for fans, with McDonald’s new take on their classic Big Mac sandwich front and center in the accompanying promo.
Lil Uzi Vert
Uzi, fresh off giving the world a sequel to their acclaimed 2020 album Eternal Atake, was a perfect fit for Kai’s world. While there, Uzi agreed to let the streaming star operate as their manager for a temporary period, though it’s unclear how serious, exactly, this makeshift arrangement was. For more on Uzi and the universe they created for Eternal Atake and Eternal Atake 2, you should check my conversation with present-day Heaven’s Gate reps.
Kodak Black
Kodak’s appearance (almost) stands alone on this list due to it having spurred numerous headlines on its own. While with Kai and company, the Florida-born artist delivered a much-discussed freestyle that incorporated a line from a near-vintage YouTube video. This later led to a nod from Rihanna.
GloRilla
Beef-quashing, a friendly gum offer, and more were afoot with Glo’s appearance. The pop-in came at an opportune time for the 2025 Grammys nominee, whose Glorious album arrived last month.
Denzel Curry
“Kids have dreams but adults make them a reality,” Denzel said in an exceptionally uplifting Mafiathon 2 moment. “So if you’re an adult, or you’re striving to be something, or striving to do something, the smallest steps lead to the biggest outcomes — so make sure you never give up.”
Quavo
Fans who tuned in during Quavo’s appearance were gifted a range of emotions, from an emotional listen to a Takeoff tribute track to some coordinated dab-hitting.
Miranda Cosgrove
At the top of Kai’s 30-day streaming marathon, the iCarly star made a special appearance. Naturally, this resulted in a little something called KaiCarly, not to mention a touching moment in which Kai made sure to mention Cosgrove’s influence on the modern streaming landscape.
Snoop Dogg
Simply put, this was a fun one. I mean, just look at how massive this blunt is.
Deeper into Mafiathon 2, Snoop returned, this time for a hotbox session with Kai and Tylil. Snoop also played matchmaker to a robot.
Shameik Moore
As a surprise, the Dope actor and Miles Morales voice talent from Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse joined none other than NPC Miles Morales for a Spidey-meets-Spidey moment for the ages. Adding to the moment was the inclusion of Post Malone and Swae Lee’s undeniable 2018 Spider-Verse soundtrack hit “Sunflower.”
NLE Choppa
A prank and some seemingly ill-timed napping broke out when Choppa showed up.
DDG
Not unlike Kodak's appearance, the DDG pop-in generated its own news cycle. In short, a cameo from his and Halle Bailey’s baby was initially met with pushback, though all was later confirmed to be well between the two.
GTA V
Grand Theft Auto franchise enthusiasts were treated with a live reading of “Ah shit, here we go again” from voice actor Young Maylay, as well as an in-person appearance by Solo, who voices Franklin.
Good Luck Charlie
Motivational speeches were at the core of the Good Luck Charlie cast’s appearance.
“Good luck to everybody out there. You’re all gonna live amazing lives,” series star Mia Talerico told the chat at one point.
Marshmello
The helmet-clad producer and DJ previewed unreleased Juice WRLD during his appearance. At one point, a silent disco broke out.
Jabbawockeez
Kai was absolutely beside himself with stokedness when the peerless hip-hop dance crew showed up. Impressively, Kai joined in on a dance set to DaBaby’s “BOP.” Later, he was given the distinction of being made an honorary member of the crew.
Soulja Boy
“You gotta have a good heart in this shit,” Soulja told the chat during his own motivational moment. “Good shit comes to good people. Fuckshit comes to fuckn***as. So you know what all of this tells me? This n***a Kai is a goodass n***a.”
Elsewhere during Soulja’s time with Kai, he underscored his disdain for mayonnaise, a hatred he put on full display by nearly getting sick while trying to down a sandwich comprised of the oft-questionable condiment.
G Herbo
Both Herbo and his son, Yosohn, got a chance to speak from the heart during a joint appearance on Kai’s stream. As is customary at this point in the marathon, the two also contributed to the series of motivational speeches that have found a home on Kai’s channel, as seen below.
Bill Nye the Science Guy
“It’s for everybody,” Nye said on the importance of science, both for those who have centered their life around its pursuits and those approaching it from a more everyday perspective. “We want everyone to have an understanding of our place in the cosmos so that we can work together, and dare I say it, change the world.”
Andre Iguodala
The retired NBA star used a portion of his motivational speech slot to urge against chasing instant gratification above all.
“As a society, we’re kind of going backwards,” he told the chat. He also defined what he considers “the new cool” and attended a funeral for Kai’s hamster.
Lil Dicky
Believing in yourself, even when no one else does, is paramount to success, per the Dave star and co-creator.
“I can live with failure. I can’t live with what if,” he said of the importance of not psyching yourself out of sharing your work, whatever form it may take.
Benny Blanco
Naturally, Blanco brought with him an original wand from Wizards of Waverly Place, i.e. the Disney Channel sitcom that counts Selena Gomez among its alumni. Gomez, however, was not able to join him for the stream. Elsewhere, Benny and Kai spoke with 'round-the-clock Twitch streamer Emilycc.
Chris Brown
Early into Chris’ appearance, he revealed that he gets nervous when it comes to the live-streaming space, joking that he’s “goofy as hell” in such contexts. Nerves or not, the 11:11 Grammy nominee tucked in everything from a backflip lesson to, yes, a motivational speech.
“People that’s in that dark place or they need some help or they feel like the world is against them, just know you’re not alone in that situation,” Brown told the chat. “There’s a lot more people that go though that situation. … You don’t gotta go through certain things alone, you don’t gotta go through certain trials and tribulations alone.”
He also provided some advice on how to funnel these feelings into something of value, namely art.
“Try to create,” he said.
Lil Yachty
In one particularly moving movement, Lil Yachty spoke directly to chat, and the world at large, when asserting the importance of realizing that nothing is permanent.
“Sometimes you have dark days and it feels like it’s everlasting. You gotta realize that every time, the sun will come back out and it will be light again,” Yachty said. “And if you navigate with that, I think you’ll relieve some stress when you feel darkness and I think that it’ll ease some of that current cloudiness.”
Nardwuar
The one and only Nardwuar reflected on a childhood memory of running in a race he ultimately lost, though its impact has stayed with him to this day.
“Don’t give up,” he said. “Stick around long enough and people may drop out and it puts you to the top of the charts.”
SZA and Lizzo
The two’s joint appearance on Cenat’s stream coincided with the swift meme-ing of a key moment from Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off,” leading to a timely impression. Fans were also given some words encouragement from the duo.
Travis Barker
Ideally, we could all be stirred awake each morning by the drumming prowess of blink-182’s Travis Barker. Kai was given that honor on Day 26 of his subathon, with the Grammy-nominated Box Car Racer and +44 alum performing renditions of Travis Scott’s Playboi Carti-featuring “Fe!n” and the 1999 Enema of the State classic “All the Small Things.”
Sexyy Red
“Be yourself,” Sexyy told the chat when delivering her motivational speech. “Don’t let nobody down talk you. You that bitch, period, or you that n***a. Just stay positive. … Don’t be feeling like you wanna kill yourself or crash out. That’s just momentary. You gon’ be up real soon. Stay prayed up. Manifestation, because that’s real. Because I used to be manifesting shit and everything I manifested when I be talking, it comes true.”
The bulk of coverage for that particular evening, however, ultimately focused on Max Major’s hanging stunt, which Cenat said had not been agreed to by him or his team prior to it being carried out.
Kevin Hart and Druski
Kai rang in Thanksgiving with previous stream guests Kevin Hart and Druski, who both cooked up a feast of hilarity. For those who missed the proceedings in real time, which encompassed everything from a DoorDash-delivered Christmas tree to an exploding turkey to a sleep-inducing prayer, Kai and company made sure to upload the full holiday stream following its conclusion.
Kyrie Irving
The Dallas Mavericks player contributed what is arguably one of the most effective motivational speeches from across Kai’s marathon stream, advising against succumbing to the cruelty of the world around us, not to mention the “fucking haters and doubters” aiming to halt your greatness.
“I just wanna let you know I see you, I feel you, and I understand that life sometimes can get a little chaotic,” Irving said. “You got a lot of questions on what’s going on around you but that’s when you have to really root yourself in who God is and get in the know and the true nature of who you are. You are able to do all things. It’s in you. Don’t let anybody tell you that the greatness of God, the greatness of who you wanna become, is not in you already. You just gotta awaken that beast.”
Is yours awake?
