Joe Exotic's Husband Deported to Mexico Following Release From Prison
Exotic said that he'd pay half of his income to join his husband in Mexico.
Joe Exotic’s husband of a few weeks has reportedly been deported to Mexico after being released from a Texas prison.
TMZ reports that Jorge Marquez Flores, 33, was sent to Mexico after serving the time in federal prison for living illegally in the States.
Known as "The Tiger King" after the Netflix show of the same name, 62-year-old Exotic previously propositioned President Donald Trump to find a way to keep his husband from being deported. Exotic announced his marriage to Flores last month.
On May 10, Exotic posted a message to the president on X in which he promised to pay the US government half of what he makes in exchange for a way for him and Flores to be together.
“I will work to give [the Government] 50% of everything I make until I pay for one of your 5 million dollar gold cards,” he said. “For Jorge to use to come back or stay in America. Or a passport for me to go to Mexico."
“It's all about dollars right? I'm willing to work for my freedom and his right to live his life with me because this corrupt system doesn't give a rats ass about being innocent, you of all people should know that,” Exotic added.
After Flores’ deportation, Exotic shared a message again requesting to be released so he could be with his husband. The controversial former animal handler is serving a 21-year sentence for animal cruelty and the attempted murder of his rival, Carole Baskin.
“You know I could die tomorrow and I could go knowing what true love was really all about,” Exotic wrote. “Jorge gave me the most loving and devoted 10 months of my life. I pray God will give me the chance to experience life with him again."
“I went outside today and it was hard, but truly amazing how many people in gangs came up to me and check to see how I was holding up since he left, and you know they all respected us because we weren’t the typical gay people just causing drama and bed hopping, they saw that we were real and serious about our devotion to each other which is amazing that some of the worst of the worst society has to offer saw that in us,” Joe added.
“We got to get some serious campaigns going to get Trump to let me go,” he continued. "No matter where I am, I am fine with Mexico or America as long as I spend my last [sic] with Jorge.”
