Skai Jackson Gives Birth to Her First Child

Skai Jackson has announced the birth of her child.

The former Disney Channel star shared the news on Sunday with a post revealing that she and her boyfriend welcomed their baby, Kasai, into the world.

The post featured Jackson holding her baby's hands up, and in the caption, she shared the name of her child.

Jackson’s announcement comes a few days after she shared a "get ready with me" video about packing up to go to the hospital.

Jackson announced her pregnancy in November (without naming her boyfriend and father of the baby). At the time, she expressed how excited she was to become a mother.

“I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects,” she told People. “My heart is so full!”

The birth of Jackson’s child comes five months after she was arrested for domestic battery. In August, she was booked at Universal Studios California and then released. Deputies reviewed surveillance footage of the park and captured footage of Jackson allegedly pushing the victim.

The Los Angeles County D.A.’s office later declined to file charges against her.

Jackson’s rep gave a statement at the time explaining their relief in her not getting charged.

"Skai is relieved that the investigation revealed that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding,” said the rep. ”We appreciate that the DA determined very quickly that there should be no charges of any kind and Skai looks forward to putting this behind her.”
