Anthony Edwards Points to His Sister as Person Who Influenced His Trash-Talking
The Minnesota Timberwolves star told 'GQ' that his tendency to talk trash "probably" came from his sister.
In a new video with GQ Sports, Anthony Edwards responded to some of the comments NBA fans have been making about him online this season.
Edwards, who was recently fined $50,000 after he made explicit remarks about being well-endowed to a Lakers fan, answered a question about his tendency to trash-talk while joined by his best friend Nick 'Slick' Maddox. "I don't really know where I got my trash-talking from," the Minnesota Timberwolves star said at the 4:00 point of the video, as seen above. "'Cause it's unique. I think it's just me."
He said he probably didn't get it from his brother, who he said was "quiet." But his sister, Antoinette Edwards, could have influenced him. "Like, my sister, when she used to play, she used to talk a lot of trash," he said. "Probably from her, if anybody."
He also spoke about his friendship with Kevin Durant, his shoes with Adidas, and re-drafted his top-five in the draft class of 2020. "Me at one," he said. "I would go LaMelo at two. I'm going Tyrese Maxey at three. Tyrese Haliburton at four. I'm going Jaden McDaniels."
At one point, he reacted to a comment that asked, "Does Ant ever feel bad about dunking on people the way he does?" He replied, "Hell nah. I wish I could dunk on every fucking body. I wanna dunk on everybody, swear to God."
