Pro Golfer Taken Off Course on Stretcher Mid-Tournament
A professional golfer collapsed twice while participating in the Evian Championship in France.
Pro golfer Charley Hull needed to be taken off the golf course on a stretcher on July 10 after collapsing twice during the Evian Championship in France. The British golfer, 29, was seen on the ground two separate times, eventually needing medical attention, according to USA Today.
While getting ready to tee off at the third hole, Hull appeared to be distressed and sat on the ground. She eventually completed the hole and moved on to the next, but collapsed on the ground. She received medical attention at that point, but ended up teeing off anyway.
Just after making the shot, Hull collapsed and was forced to exit the tournament. She was carted off the field by way of a special golf cart that had a flat stretcher on one side.
Hull has not yet shared any updates on her health, but has withdrawn from the Evian Championship. She was 1 under through 12 holes at the time of her withdrawal.
Just days ago, Hull posted photos from her time at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, in which she finished fourth.
"Overall had such a good week playing in Ireland for the first time competitively as a professional which was made even better by the fans, she captioned a post on July 6. "Thank you @cartonhouse.fairmont @cartonhousegolf for hosting me this week, such a beautiful place, couldn’t recommend more. Congratulations @lottie_woad on the win."
