Caitlin Clark's Stalker Receives His Sentence and Harsh Words From The Judge
Throughout Michael Lewis’ July 28 hearing his behavior was incredibly bizarre, requiring the judge to pause court proceedings.
Caitlin Clark’s stalker learned his fate during a hearing on Monday, July 28. Michael Lewis, who is 55 years old, came all the way from Denton, Texas, to Indianapolis, Indiana, to stalk and harass the 23-year-old WNBA player.
Between December 12, 2024, and January 11, 2025, Lewis used the social media platform X to send Clark hundreds of messages. Some of these messages were “sexually explicit” in nature, while others were reportedly threatening.
"Been driving around your house 3x a day," one of the messages read.
"But don't call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin's Fieldhouse,” said another.
The messages only continued to get more disturbing.
"I'm getting tickets. I'm sitting behind the bench," he wrote.
The police were able to track down Lewis through his IP address. When they found him, he told them that he was in an “imaginary relationship” with Clark. He was arrested on January 12, 2025.
Lewis would later take a plea deal, which involved him admitting to stalking and harassing Clark, and on Monday was sentenced to a little over a year and a half in prison. He must also stay away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Hinkle Foundhouse, any events involving the Indiana Pacers, and have absolutely no contact with Clark.
Throughout the hearing, the judge had to frequently stop court proceedings to correct his poor behavior. At one point, Lewis even began prophesying that the world was coming to an end.
He also seemed to take back his earlier confession, claiming, "I've never threatened her, I've never thought about threatening her.”
At that point, the judge stopped him.
"He is going to talk himself out of a plea,” she said. "You have to understand that as part of a plea deal, you are admitting responsibility."
As part of his sentence, the judge ordered that Lewis receive mental health help.
"You can't help yourself until you get help," she said.
