Angel Reese Says WNBA Checks Don’t Cover Her Bills: ‘I’m Living Beyond My Means’

Angel Reese needs a bigger bag than what the WNBA provides her with.

The Chicago Sky forward, who generated other streams of income with her podcast and multiple brand deals, tried to break down her means during an Instagram Live session on Tuesday (Oct. 15). While the 22-year-old is among the most popular stars in the league, she explained that her $74,000 WNBA salary isn't enough to satisfy her lifestyle.

"The WNBA don't pay my bills at all," Reese said in the clip below. "I don't even think that pays one of my bills. Literally."

Speaking to a person off-camera, Reese added that she was trying to think of the cost of her monthly rent, before needing to "do the math real quick."

"I don't even know my salary," she told the person. "$74?"

After the friend helped Reese and appeared to show her income, Reese laughed and said, "Yo! I'm living beyond my means! Sike."

Reese then revealed that her rent was $8,000, laughing again and repeating the "living beyond my means" line.

"I don't even know my salary for the WNBA. That WNBA check don't pay a thing."

Reese and her friend had more back-and-forth banter about the salary, with Reese explaining that she "wouldn't be able to get a sandwich" with that as her sole income.

"We're gonna make more money, though," Reese concluded.

How Much Does Angel Reese Make Playing for WNBA Team Chicago Sky?

As reported by Spotrac in April, Reese signed a $324,383 Chicago Sky contract for four years, earning $73,439 in her first year with the salary increasing each season, reaching $93,636 in year four.

Per Sportskeeda, Reese has 20 endorsement deals in total, with an NIL value of $1.8 million.
