Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark got in each other's faces after the latter committed a hard foul on her rival.

The incident happened on Saturday (May 17) when Clark's Indiana Fever took on Reese and the Chicago Sky. With about four minutes left in the third quarter, Clark had fouled Reese across her arms as she went up for a shot, and the contact from the hit had Reese fall to the court. Reese didn't take the foul lightly and got up from the court before angrily charging at Clark, who walked away following the foul.

Footage from the game circulated on social media and appeared to show Reese asking Clark, "What the fuck is wrong with you?" and "You're crazy as fuck." As a result of the hard contact and referees reviewing the play, Clark's personal foul was upgraded to a flagrant, while Reese and Aliyah Boston of the Fever were issued technical fouls.

After the game, both women gave varying responses to the foul. Reese didn't say much as she called Clark's foul a "basketball play" and that the referees got the right call before claiming everyone should move on from the moment. On the other hand, Clark was quick to denounce any negativity from the foul.

"Let's not make it anything that it's not. It was just a good play on the basketball. I'm not sure what the refs saw to upgrade it. That's up to their discretion," said Clark. "We watch a lot of basketball; it's a take foul to put them at the free throw or rather give up 2 points. I've watched a lot of basketball in my life. That's exactly what it was. I wasn't trying to do anything malicious. That's not the type of player I am."

The Fever ended up beating the Sky 93-58 with Clark putting up a triple-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists while Reese had 12 points and 17 rebounds. A similar incident happened last year when Reese committed a flagrant foul on Clark. However, the women did not have to be separated.

Reese and Clark have been linked since they faced each other in college. In 2023, Reese's LSU defeated Clark's Iowa in the NCAA national championship game, and they would later enter the WNBA Draft in 2024.
