Paul Heyman Backstabs CM Punk and Roman Reigns Helping Seth Rollins Win WrestleMania Main Event
The main event for WrestleMania 41 Night one saw Paul Heyman betray both of his friends in order to side with Rollins.
Paul Heyman did the unthinkable and betrayed not only Roman Reigns but CM Punk to join forces with Seth Rollins at the end of WrestleMania 41 night one on Saturday.
It all went down when Rollins, Reigns, and Punk competed in a Triple Threat match. Heyman, who walked Punk to the ring, pulled one of the greatest attacks of betrayal when, towards the end of the match, he was tasked with handing a steel chair to Punk. That's when everything changed.
Heyman handed the chair to Reigns, who smiled from ear to ear, knowing that his once-trusted "Wiseman" was back in his corner. Little did he know, Heyman had other things in store. Reigns attacked Punk with the chair, and when he directed his attention to Rollins, Heyman hit him with a low blow, which stunned the Las Vegas crowd.
Heyman then handed the chair to Rollins, who proceeded to beat Reigns and cover him for the pin. The closing moments of WrestleMania 41 night one saw Rollins and Heyman standing triumphantly in the ring, with Reigns and Punk looking distraught.
In the post-event interviews, Punk ignored Jackie Redmond's request to talk. The betrayal capped off a night that included Jey Uso winning his first World Heavyweight Championship and Tiffany Stratton defeating Queen Charlotte Flair.
