Viral Dodgers Fan Who Held Exploding Firework Has Lost Two Fingers

The viral L.A. Dodgers fan who had a firework explode in his hand last week has lost two of his fingers.
Fox 11 Los Angeles spoke to the father of Kevin King Jr. who explained the extent of his son’s injuries — he’s lost the index and middle fingers on his left hand and also sustained hearing loss in both of his ears.
To repair some of the damage caused by the celebration, King Jr. has undergone two procedures and needs a third one to be done soon.
"Just watching the video alone," King Jr.’s father, King Sr., said, "they don't understand how he was able to walk away with the injuries that he has. He protected 98 percent of his face from the explosion."
Currently, King Jr. is in a hospital in California recovering from his injuries — but his family isn’t sure if he’ll be able to return to working in the oil industry.
Last week, when the Dodgers won their eighth title, King Jr. took the internet by storm when, while wearing a Clayton Kershaw jersey, he held a firework that went off in his hand.
King Jr. stumbled away in shock — with the video showing that his hand was seriously injured. He received tourniquets on both of his arms and was taken to a nearby hospital.
