It's Time to Stop Using the Term "SoundCloud Rap

Just last year, artists like Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Ski Mask The Slump God, XXXTentacion, and Trippie Redd were all stuck with the label "SoundCloud rap." While they all had their own unique sounds, they were all emerging on SoundCloud, and everyone knew what the "SoundCloud rap" term meant. In the past year, everything has changed. These artists are now in the charts, on the radio, and part of the mainstream discussion. In today's P&P Update, we explain why the term "SoundCloud rap" doesn't make sense anymore.
