Gloria Estefan Shuts Down Allegations Her Property Has 'Secret Tunnel' to Diddy's
In a lawsuit, the singer and her husband Emilio were accused of housing a "secret tunnel" leading to Diddy's property for "freak-off" parties.
Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio Estefan, have responded to a lawsuit alleging that a property they own houses a "secret tunnel" to Diddy's house in Miami, where he allegedly hosted "freak-off" sex parties.
As detailed in legal documents reviewed by Complex, the Estefans were named in a federal lawsuit filed by Manzaro Joseph, which alleges he was escorted through a "secret tunnel" from a property they owned to Diddy's home in 2015.
He claimed that he was sexually assaulted by Diddy when he arrived at the music mogul's house. Emilio was named as a defendant in the lawsuit, and both he and his wife have refuted the claims outlined in the initial complaint and the amended complaint.
While they both admitted that they owned another property on Star Island, where Diddy's Miami property resides, between 1993 and 2021, they said that the house was used for other family members. Gloria said that she "categorically [denies] each and every allegation about me and about my husband" in the complaints.
"The house at One Star Island, which we no longer own, was used for many years for other family members," Gloria's response to the lawsuit reads. "From approximately 2012 to the beginning of 2019, one of our closest family members occupied the house. As of 'early April 2015,' that family member and his young son, a toddler, would have been in residence at One Star Island.
"Given my close relationship with that family member, had strangers appeared at One Star Island after midnight in 'early April 2015,' that would have no doubt been reported to me or to Emilio. No such thing happened. Particularly given the occupants of One Star Island, I know that no parties were thrown during that time period, 2012-2019, at the family house."
Diddy owns the property next to One Star Island, Two Star Island. The Estefans sold One Star Island to Diddy in 2021, and said they never visited Two Star Island when Diddy purchased it from Tommy Mottola in 2003. "At no time was there ever any 'tunnel' between the two houses," Gloria's response continues. "I believe this fact could have been easily verified through the public records of the City of Miami Beach."
In the amended complaint, the plaintiff alleged that he was "dragged through the back entrance of the Estefan Mansion [One Star Island]," which the couple claimed would not be possible because two gates block the back entrance of the property.
Additionally, she claimed that the timing of the initial complaint "could not have been worse," because coverage of it overshadowed the release of two of her most recent singles. She denied that she or her husband ever had any sort of relationship, personal or otherwise, with Diddy.
They both urged the plaintiff's legal counsel to drop Emilio as a defendant, but did not receive a response. She also said that she has no knowledge of Manzaro Joseph, or any of the other defendants named in the complaint, which included Eric Mejias, Brendan Paul and Adria English.
