Young Thug sat down for an interview where he was asked about a myriad of topics, including his upcoming album UY Scuti. He gave a cryptic answer when asked about the nature of his relationship with Gunna.

In an interview with GQ, Thugger was asked about his record label and how he deals with artists, which included Wunna. The rapper was named in the initial YSL RICO indictment but ultimately took a plea deal and has since faced accusations of being a 'rat' who cooperated with authorities. The status of his friendship with Thug, who also accepted a plea deal that got him released, has been uncertain ever since.

"You guys did a ton of songs together," interviewer Zach Baron said of Gunna. "He was very successful on your label. He was arrested about the same time as you. I think a lot of people wonder what that relationship is like now." Thug replied, "Yeah, I know. Everybody wondering that."

When asked up front what it's like at the moment, he laughed and said, 'I don't know."

Gunna's 2022 Alford plea has been controversial in the world of hip-hop, but he has repeatedly made it clear he did not cooperate with authorities and even maintained his innocence. "While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna via a statement released by his lawyer Steve Sadow back in December.

His attorney also told people to "get over it" and that he was willing to take responsibility for getting his client such an incredible deal. The status of his friendship with Thug remains a mystery, although in November, 2024, Thug appeared to call out his former collaborator in a tweet which read, "Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don't know u my guy."

Lil Baby, meanwhile, has been clear as day that he will not be working with Gunna again.
