Drake Soundtracks Sexyy Red Appreciation Post With Kanye West's "Real Friends"
The five-time Grammy winner and his "Rich Baby Daddy" collaborator are locked in.
Drake considers himself to be "Real Friends" with Sexyy Red.
On Wednesday (July 30), the five-time Grammy winner posted a picture from music outlet Rap TV with his "Rich Baby Daddy" collaborator on Instagram Stories. Soundtracking the post was the artist known as Kanye West's "Real Friends" from Ye's 2016 album The Life of Pablo.
The song's usage comes as somewhat of a surprise considering Drizzy and Ye's rocky past. The rappers have been subtly feuding for years, with Ye briefly siding with Kendrick Lamar during his diss track battle versus Drake last year. The 6 God also pulled music rollout stunts that alluded to "rescuing" Ye's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
In 2021, Drake and Ye temporarily put their differences aside to headline a Free Larry Hoover benefit concert, which did all but release the notorious Chicago kingpin from prison.
In a livestream with DJ Akademiks in April, Ye showed interest in dropping a joint album with Drake when it's "all said and done." But for now, The Boy releases occasional collaborations with Sexyy, who was a surprise guest during his three-day Wireless Festival headlining engagement earlier this month.
Days after the London festival, Sexyy posted on X, formerly Twitter, that "no one can convince me to hate you" in dedication to her "U My Everything" collaborator.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
