Lil Yachty wants fans to know “manifestation is real,” and he’s citing his extensive work with Drake as proof.

During on appearance on Plaqueboymax’s stream on Wednesday, Yachty was asked to highlight who he thinks are the “most talented” people he’s worked with over the years, with Drake getting a mention alongside recent tour partner Tyler, The Creator and the late Juice WRLD. This led to Max inquiring about how Yachty and Drake, specifically, first started developing their repeatedly proven studio chemistry.

“I manifested it, bro,” Yachty said. “I was doing acid one night and I was like, man, I would really love to work with Drake. That’s one of my favorite rappers. I was just talking to the abyss. I was speaking to, like, a higher power and I manifested it. This was years ago. This was before we ever did anything.”

At the time, Yachty recalled, he and Drake were already “cool” in a social media sense, with both following each other on their respective Finstas.

“But I wanted to have a relationship,” he said. “[Now] that’s one of my best friends. Manifestation is real. I manifested getting on, becoming famous, becoming a rapper. All this shit is manifestation. You gotta speak this shit into existence.”

Yachty, of course, is right. If you can’t envision yourself at your highest potential, artistically or otherwise, how can you possibly expect anyone else to believe in you? The past Complex cover star is far from the only artist to have championed the effects of manifestation, with Drake himself among those who have also gone on record as fans of the practice.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
