Young Thug Is a 'Hero' for Showing 'Criminal Justice System Is Corrupt,' Attorney Brian Steel Says
Brian Steel says Young Thug is "a hero" after his YSL racketeering trial.
Young Thug is a “hero” for shining a light on criminal justice system shortcomings, per his YSL racketeering trial attorney Brian Steel.
In a video recently shared to Instagram Stories by Thug himself, Steel, who once called Drake a “true leader” after having a 6 God track named in his honor, pointed to the ComplexCon 2025 headliner’s lengthy trial as crucial in getting “the truth” out to more people.
“Since your trial, Jeffery, there are more acquittals than there were before your trial,” Steel said in the brief clip, which comes amid coverage of Thug’s recent visit to Skyview High School in College Park. “It’s because it’s related back to the fact that you showed that the criminal justice system is corrupt and prosecutors, at times, hide evidence. You did that. You are a hero. Thank you for teaching everybody the truth.”
Thug’s long legal ordeal, which saw him spending over two years in jail and became the longest trial in Georgia’s history, came to an end with news of a plea agreement last October. He and Steel previously linked up for some FaceTime-enabled Emory Law School encouragement.
Now on the horizon for Thug is a new album, titled UY Scuti, plus a headlining slot on ComplexCon’s return to Vegas. The latter finds Thug joined on the lineup by Yeat & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and 2hollis.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
