Drake to Livestream on Stake This Weekend
Could the world hear new music from 'Iceman'?
Drake has announced a new livestream in collaboration with the cryptocurrency gambling platform Stake.
Drizzy let the world know about it via his Instagram Story, where he shared a video playing a game, along with the message that he was going to be doing “some lowkey gambling tonight.”
The stream is set to kick off on Saturday (Aug. 9) at 8 p.m. ET.
While Drake’s stream may be focused on celebrating Stake’s eighth birthday, there’s a very real chance that he’ll tease new music from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Iceman. In the first of two recent streams, Drizzy played “What Did I Miss?” a track that featured shots at LeBron James for his questionable loyalty.
In the second of two recent streams, the Toronto rapper seemingly took digs at Kendrick Lamar by having someone dressed in a Pinocchio costume following Drizzy around the streets at night.
There’s also the chance that Drake’ll be using the stream to forget about music right now. The rapper recently shared an Instagram photo dump suggesting he was tired from making “too many bangers.”
Drake’s Stake stream comes months after he claimed to have won a million dollars on the platform by betting on an NBA playoff game.
Drizzy posted his proof of his winning bet on the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers game on Apr. 25. In the first post about the bet, Drake wrote, “Lemme see sum Ant” in reference to Timberwolves guard, Anthony Edwards.
In a second post, he shared the $,026,871.42 payout.
According to a 2023 report from the Financial Times, Drake makes $100 million to endorse Stake each year.
