Young Thug Might Quit Rap to Become a Streamer: 'Y'all Live a Cool Life'
Thugger is apparently a fan of all the "types of crazy stuff" streamers do.
Young Thug has revealed that he's considering a change in career, potentially quitting rap to become a streamer.
Popping up on Adin Ross’ Kick stream this week, Thugger seemed enamored about the idea of becoming a streamer after learning how much money that Ross brings in.
"I’m gonna stop doing music and start streaming,” joked Young Thug. "I think I’m gonna stop. I’m telling you, I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming."
He then gave a few reasons why he’d switch, and how it had nothing to do with money. "Y’all live a cool life," he explained. "Y’all go everywhere everyday. Y’all got cats wandering around this bitch. Y’all got all types of crazy stuff."
Thug’s observation about streamers is spot on. Ross’ estimated net worth, as of 2024, is $24 million. iShowSpeed revealed to Complex last year that his estimated net worth wasn’t far off $10 million. Meanwhile, Thug’s estimated net worth is $8 million — and he’s been a popular rapper a lot longer than the two streamers have been household names.
Before Young Thug seemingly makes the switch to being a streamer, he’s on the hook to release new album UY Scutti. Back in April, Thugger released what many believe to be a single from the album, “Money on Money” with Future. The album’s creative name comes from the supergiant star that’s located roughly 9,500 lightyears from Earth.
Thug — who was released from custody last October following a guilty plea in the YSL RICO Case — last put out an album, Business Is Business, in 2023.
If you want to see Thug this October, come to ComplexCon in Las Vegas. Always stacked with stars, the festival will feature Thug, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Yeat & Friends, Ken Carson and 2hollis.
