Taylor Swift Breaks Social Media Silence to Hype Travis Kelce in 'Happy Gilmore 2'
The 'Happy Gilmore' sequel features a cameo by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Taylor Swift is cheering on her man, who makes a big appearance in a new movie.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has a small role in the Netflix Original Happy Gilmore 2—a sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler classic. And of course, Swift is raving over the film.
The “Cardigan” hitmaker took to her Instagram Story to share her thoughts on Happy Gilmore 2, writing “Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must watch.” Swift gave the movie her ultimate seal of approval — a “13/10” rating.
Swift’s social media presence has slowed in recent months. Her last post was in May, when she announced she had acquired the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums.
Happy Gilmore 2 sees Sandler reprising the titular character—a professional golfer who is coming out of retirement to finance his daughter’s dance classes. Kelce appears briefly as the abusive manager at a country club restaurant.
But it looks like Kelce couldn’t be further from his character. Earlier this week, Kelce took to his Instagram page to share a carousel of never-before-seen photos of him and Swift, many of them on vacation, date nights, and hangouts with friends during the NFL offseason.
This marked the first time either of them shared images of themselves as a couple on their personal social media pages.
Last year, Kelce made his acting debut on FX’s Grotesquerie, where he played a mysterious nurse with a dark side. He's also set to star in an upcoming action comedy called Loose Cannons, however the details are currently under wraps. But for now, Kelce is currently in St. Joseph, Missouri for training camp ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
