Kevin Hart Jokingly Warns Not to Let Kanye Into BET Awards ‘So He Can Bite Playboi Carti Again’
Hart's opening monologue also took aim at other celebrities, including Cardi B and Stefon Diggs.
Kevin Hart came out swinging at Kanye West at the 2025 BET Awards.
During the comedian’s opening monologue, Hart jokingly warned the audience that Ye was looking to make his way into the show.
“Ah shit, it's Kanye,” Hart said while looking at his phone. “He says he's out front. He's waiting for somebody to invite him in.”
He continued, “Hey, don't do it, okay? We all saw the movie Sinners, don't let his ass in here so he can bite somebody, so he can bite Playboi Carti again.”
Hart was obviously referring to the Ryan Coogler-directed vampire thriller starring Michael B. Jordan.
“Playboi Cardi definitely been bit, something happened. Playboi Carti's been bit, I know he has,” Hart said with a laugh. “Nobody let Kanye in! No, not tonight.”
Ye’s last award show appearance was at the 2025 Grammy Awards where he walked the red carpet with his wife, Bianca Censori.
Although Censori arrived donning a thick, dark fur coat, the 30-year-old Australian architect stripped down to reveal an “invisible” dress that left nothing to the imagination.
Elsewhere in the monologue, Hart turned his attention to Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ Miami yacht party over Memorial Day weekend.
"I'm gonna do my part. I'm shutting down the idea of after parties, no after parties tonight, OK? None. Take your asses home after this. That's why I did it on a Monday. People gotta go to work tomorrow. No after parties. That's where shit gets slippery at them goddamn after parties," Hart said, seemingly in reference to Diddy and the allegations made against him.
"No yachts, no boats. Cardi B, no pink stuff, what the fuck? None of that stuff. Everybody's gonna get hit tonight. We're live. It's gonna be a good time," he added.
Hart seemingly backpedalled his comments on Cardi by giving her and other women in hip-hop a shout out for their contributions to the genre.
“The women in hip-hop are doing such amazing—I told you guys it's a matter of giving flowers, so I wanna make sure I celebrate this correctly. Shouts out to Cardi B, shouts out to Meg[an] Thee Stallion. Shouts out to Latto, Doechii, just to name a few. You guys are all doing amazing things,” Hart said.
“We all love you, we all see you, we all support you. It's dope as hell to see how you guys are pushing the goddamn business in music forward. Keep going ladies, keep going,” he concluded.
