Will Smith Seemingly References Chris Rock Oscars Slap Moment in New Freestyle
"If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage," the Philly actor raps.
Time heals all wounds—but Will Smith may need a little longer to move past his viral moment with Chris Rock.
In a new “Fire in the Booth” freestyle with Charlie Sloth uploaded Thursday, Smith appears to allude to the moment he slapped Rock at the 2022 Oscars after the comedian made a comment about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
"If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage," the Philly actor raps without saying any names.
"Jokers dish it out, cry foul when its time to take it," he continues. "City full of real ones, wasn't raised to fake it." As of this writing, Rock has not responded to the freestyle.
This isn't the first time Smith appears to reference the infamous moment at the Oscars. He did so in his recently released album Based on a True Story, particularly on the album’s intro, “Int. Barbershop – Day,” featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff and B. Simone.
Back in April, Chris' brother, Tony Rock, slammed Smith’s album, calling it “a piece of shit” despite admitting he hasn’t listened to it. Speaking to paparazzi at LAX, he referenced the Oscars and said it’s “a great time to be a comic.”
