Cam’ron Blasts Movie Studios for Lacking Creativity: 'I Can't F*ck With Denzel Being The Equalizer at 70'
Denzel stated he was done playing Robert McCall after starring in the third film.
Cam'ron has an issue with movie studios remaking the same film and older actors portraying action movie roles past their prime.
In the latest episode of It Is What It Is, Killa Cam and Mase had a discussion about the rumor that Justin Jefferson and Anthony Edwards recreated the photo that Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett did in the '90s. According to Cam, he believes the effort is lazy, and it's been happening in other fields, too, such as Hollywood, where producers are constantly making the same film over and over.
Cam believes that every generation is different and should show more in the products being put out. Cam stated he's seen the new iterations of The Smurfs, Ghostbusters, Superman, and more, but none are original. He also feels these types of films are an easy way for the original creator to keep making money, and he also has an issue with respected veteran actors such as Sylvester Stallone and Denzel Washington playing the same role they have no business doing in their old age.
"I think that n***as is lacking in being creative and not only lacking being creative, you have to think about who's eating off this stuff," said Cam. "If the owner of, let's just use Ghostbusters, for example, says 'We don't want Bill Murray, let's get some young Ghostbusters,' the original n***a most likely is going to get paid again because if he didn't sell the name of the movie or still has the rights to the movie n***a said I'ma eat again."
He continued, "I'm not watching Rocky be Rambo at 78 years old, man. I'm not watching that; I refuse to watch Rocky be Rambo. Did I see the new Equalizer? I love Denzel Washington as an actor, but I'm not watching him do karate at 71 years old and all that. I'm not doing it. I love him as a great actor but when n***as start doing karate and they 70, I can't believe the movie. I can't fuck with Denzel being The Equalizer at 70. Rocky 19? Nah, I'm not watching it, b."
Cam'ron will be happy to know that Washington has already stated he's done playing Robert McCall in The Equalizer series following the third sequel that was released last year. Stallone has also hinted at the top of the year that he may pass the Rambo baton to Ryan Gosling if he seriously considered retiring from the iconic role.
