We are heartbroken by the passing of Sacha Jenkins, the visionary writer, filmmaker, artist, and musician who helped shape how we tell stories about hip-hop, graffiti, fashion, and culture. There is no Complex without Sacha Jenkins. This Idea Generation interview, originally recorded May 12, 2023, offers a look back at Sacha’s creative journey from making underground zines in Queens, to co-founding Ego Trip, to directing acclaimed films like Fresh Dressed and Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men. Sacha didn’t just cover the culture, he helped create it.
